How to make Rasam: 
Tamarind pulp (small lemon-sized ball)
2 medium-sized tomatoes (chopped)
1 teaspoon rasam powder
Few curry leaves
1 tablespoon ghee or oil
Salt to taste (if you required)
Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:
Soak the tamarind pulp in water and extract the juice. Discard the pulp and keep the tamarind juice aside.
In a pot, add the chopped tomatoes and a cup of water. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
In a separate pan, heat ghee or oil. Add Mustard and cumin seeds to allow them to splutter and then add curry leaves. Saute for a minute.
Add the tamarind juice to the pan and bring it to a gentle boil.
Add the cooked tomato mixture to the tamarind juice.
Stir in the rasam powder and we already added turmeric, asafoetida, and salt in that. We if you want add little salt to adjust the taste.
Allow the rasam to simmer on low heat for about 5-7 minutes, ensuring the flavours meld together.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and turn off the heat.
Serve hot as a comforting soup or enjoy with steamed rice and enjoy it.!
